-
Hand Wash Only: To preserve the natural beauty and integrity of the oak wood, hand wash the cutting board with mild dish soap and warm water. Avoid using harsh detergents or placing it in the dishwasher.
-
Immediate Drying: After washing, promptly dry the cutting board with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid leaving it to air dry, as prolonged exposure to moisture can lead to warping or cracking.
-
Season Regularly: Maintain the cutting board's luster and protect it from moisture by applying a food-safe mineral oil or beeswax regularly. This helps to prevent the wood from drying out and ensures longevity.
-
Avoid Extreme Temperatures: Do not expose the cutting board to extreme temperatures, such as direct sunlight or excessive heat. Extreme conditions can cause the wood to crack or lose its natural beauty.
-
Use Both Sides: Take advantage of the reversible design by using both sides of the cutting board. This helps distribute wear and tear evenly, extending the life of your unique piece.
-
Minimise Impact: While the cutting board is durable, it's advisable to use softer utensils to minimize the impact on the wood surface. Avoid using sharp knives with excessive force to prevent unnecessary wear.
-
Periodic Sanding: Over time, the cutting board may develop minor scratches. If desired, gently sand the surface with a fine-grit sandpaper to maintain its smooth appearance.
